ACGME International Expands to Indonesia, Accredits New Programs in Japan and Lebanon
Six medical institutions in the world’s fourth most populous country achieve ACGME-I accreditation, as do new programs in two recently accredited institutions in Japan and Lebanon.

GME Around the World: A Focused Section in JGME for International GME Scholars
JGME launched its focused section, “GME Around the World,” to bring attention to the global nature of graduate medical education (GME) with an editorial in October 2024, “GME Around the World”: Introducing JGME’s New Section for International Perspectives in Graduate Medical Education, which also provides practical advice for submitting a manuscript for consideration.

Revised Advanced Specialty Requirements for Family Medicine, Obesity/Bariatric Medicine and Pediatrics Now Available
ACGME-I policy is to conduct a regular review of Requirements. To that end, the Advanced Specialty Requirements for both Family Medicine and Pediatrics recently underwent a scheduled major revision. These revisions are effective 1 July 2026.

Upcoming Webinar: Everything You Need to Know About ACGME-I Site Visits
Accreditation site visits to all ACGME-I-accredited programs will ramp up in the next few years, as required visits following completion of a program’s Self-Study are scheduled. This webinar is designed if it has it been a while since a program’s last site visit, there is a new program director or coordinator who has never experienced a site visit, or for programs applying for ACGME-I accreditation or moving from Initial to Continued Accreditation.
